Tornado brings fresh air

The new one-shaft shredder "Tornado" of WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH, Ilsfeld/Ger-many is an economic solution with a high throughput for the shredding of industrial, agricultural and packaging films, textiles, etc. This is warranted by the Super-Cut-System already used in the WLK series with adjustable cutter rail and the pendulum-shaped pressing unit the exact guidance of which is safeguarded over the segmented machine bottom.

The Tornado is offered with rotor widths from 800 mm to 3.000 mm and optionally with electrical or hydraulic drive from 22 kW to 2x200 kW drive rating. All machines of the "Tornado" series can be supplied with flat rotor as well as with patented V-rotor as well as with a water cooling of the rotor and the equipment variants known from the WLK series. The hydraulically slewable screen cage permits a simple cleaning and maintenance of the machine.

The Tornado can be used as stand-alone solution where fraction sizes of 20 mm and larger are required. For finer fractions it is suggested to use the combination with a subsequent granulator of type NZ or the heavy-duty granulator T-Shark in order to bring the material to the final grain size at a high throughput.
