WEIMA America announced as the official “Partner in Recycling”
for IWF 2008



See some picture from the IWF-Show (08 / 09 / 20008) IWF show management in conjunction with GES and the Georgia World Congress Center has teamed up with WEIMA America, distributor of shredding and briquetting equipment, to create the first ever partnership in recycling. The goal of this project is to inform the public of the importance of creating a clean environment by recycling our waste materials. “IWF recognizes the importance of moving forward down the “GREEN” road and we want to take a leading role in becoming a more responsible organization and tradeshow,” says Patrick LaFramboise, President & CEO of IWF. The IWF show message developed by WEIMA America for this first ever campaign is “Destroy Responsibly”.

With over 1200 exhibitors the magnitude of wood waste produced at this show is phenomenal. WEIMA will be providing a WL15 hopper-fed shredder with both in-feed and discharge conveyors. This machine will be able to handle everything from pallets and crates to all types of wood scrap from demonstration machines. Throughout the show GES employees will be picking up scrap wood from booths and delivering it to the shredding location outside of Building C. You will be able to recognize these employees by their green t-shirts and tilt trucks that will read “Destroy Responsibly.” The benefit of the shredder is to reduce the size of bulky materials and the volume of waste that would be going into a landfill. By doing this we can significantly reduce the amount of waste containers and in turn reduce the waste hauling expense. “This is the same way a shredder can help a woodworking business. Not only does the customer benefit by saving money but they also help reduce the consumption of fossil fuel,” states Vikki Van Dam, Inside Sales & Marketing Manager at WEIMA America. “We are delighted to have WEIMA’s participation in our IWF recycling project and we believe this is a start in a new direction towards being an environmentally aware show,” states Partick LaFramboise.
